July 13, 2011 - Last day in NB

Today is our last full day in New Brunswick. This province has been good to us, but it is time to move on. Entering our 5th province is exciting for the team, AND it brings us closer to our families!!

We have now raised over $11,000 in online donations and an additional 10% of that value in hard copy road-side donations.

We are spending our last night in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Edmundston because nobody was willing to provide us with a night in this town. We are still, however, feeding off of our pampered visit to Tannaghtyn B&B. It was the most at-home we have felt since our stay at the Stonehouse's in Dartmouth!! We highly recommend Tannaghtyn as a getaway point for R&R.

To Scott and Meghan; Meghan you told me you guys were thinking of doing this adventure. I had not seen you and when I asked Kristin about you she told me what you and Scott were doing and they have the posters up in the store. Pumba misses you and Scott if his legs worked better he would join you for a few blocks. :) Is your route published somewhere? We wish you all the best in the rest of the run!! Proud to have Canadians like you guys!!!

I just got a Facebook update saying that you'll be passing through Trent in a short while. I had no doubt that you'd be well on your way and going hard, but am very impressed you have come so far already! Time does fly. Although I am still loving life here in New Zealand, I wish I could be there to congratulate you. Just know I'm proud of your efforts and am honoured to call you a friend. Here's a quote to leave you with...

Scott, Thank you for taking a stand and making a difference. My husband has been fighting this battle and is winning! It us a fight that no one should have to lose.

I walk 60km every September for the same reason. May God bless you and continue to give you strength! Lets make cancer a thing of the past so that it is NEVER a part of anyone's future...The world needs more angels like you!

Hi Scott and team!
I rode up beside you on Lakeshore this morning near Mississauga Road. I just made a donation through you site and tacked on an extra $5 for the bracelet. Thanks! In 2003, I rode across Canada with 5 others and entourage much like yours. We raised funds for childhood cancer programs. Since then, out foundation has built a number of annual cycling event s that raise finds for child specific programs. I know first hand the amount of effort it takes to organize and operate an event like your and you are ALL congratulated for making the time in your lives to help others. Scott, I wish you speed and continued health in your journey. Sleep well, eat well and enjoy the warmth in your heart for your all that you're doing.

I would like to take this time to thank scott and the team ( megs and zinger ) for letting me bike with them from ottawa to pickering....
scott i already miss our talks on the road on what do you feel like to eat.. now.. or lets guess this auto part..... and your facts you know so much about....
